Regarding IP Address Allocation, Changing IP Addresses, and Testing IPs in Cloud Server IP Address Management

Can specific IP address ranges be allocated upon request?

Whenever a cloud server is provisioned, its IP address is randomly assigned from the cloud service provider's IP address pool. This pool may consist of one or several IP address ranges, which can increase or decrease over time. Therefore, it's not possible to request an IP address from a specific range. This applies to the addition of cloud server IP addresses as well, where newly added IP addresses are also randomly assigned.

Although the allocation is random, you can select the desired IP addresses by provisioning multiple cloud servers or through IP address management methods, relinquishing or deleting the others as necessary.

How can IP addresses be changed?

IP addresses can be changed through methods such as destroying and re-provisioning, changing the primary IP, or adding additional IPs. However, not all regions support these operations. Please refer to the "Test IP and Feature Parameters Comparison" page for each country or city's cloud server to review the parameters for destruction refunds, adding IPs, and changing the primary IP.

If opting to destroy and re-provision, there's a possibility that the destroyed IP address might be reassigned, so it's recommended to order a new IP before destroying the old one. Note that any remaining funds are non-withdrawable.

Are test IPs the same as official IPs?

For each available zone, test IPs are provided to assess network latency and routing. While we ensure that the officially assigned cloud servers and the test IPs are located in the same data center, offering identical network conditions, we cannot guarantee that the IP address range of the officially assigned IPs will match the test IPs exactly. For details on test IP parameters, please check the "Test IP and Feature Parameters Comparison" page for each country or city's cloud server.
